Before You Begin

Note: Students who have taken Beginning Band at Sellwood or another middle school do not need to audition — they are automatically placed in Intermediate Band.

This audition is only for students who have taken band in elementary school and want to start in Intermediate Band in 6th grade instead of Beginning Band.

Note: Most students will find that Beginning Band is the right fit, because we cover much more in 6th grade than in 5th grade band — we have five rehearsals per week where the elementary programs usually have one.
